About Me

My name is Timothy Edward Bowen. I was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on October 17, 1980, making me a Libra, and a Monkey. I moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas at the ripe age of 16, and while I have traveled the country a lot, I have found this place to be my home. I've been writing poetry since I was in Jr High, and have currently self published 3 collections of poetry. In 2006 I formed Jonesboro's House of Eris' Science and Fnord Committee, and started publishing Discordian Holy Books, first and foremost being the cult hit, Jonesboria Discordia. (It's even listed in the wikipedia entry on Discordianism. Don't believe me? Look for yourself).
I'm pretty CVLT if I don't say so myself!
I spent most of my 20's trying to be a rock star. I was in many different local bands from the thrash-core band Drowning Ophelia, to the prog-core band Baba Ku, to the post-experimental mayhem of Parson's Brown Project, to the sugary pop goodness of 3 Inch Giants. During that time I did more drugs than a normal person would, and liked it when people would call me Pope Tim.
I would even sometimes wore a Pope Costume!
I'm still in my early 30's, but have found this age to be a bit less hectic. I like that about it. I do a hell of a lot less drugs these days, and am generally a lot happier. I don't really think of myself as a rock-star or a pope quite so much either. One day I decided to grow a mustache and go on Jerry Springer to talk about the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Most so called "bronies" on the interwebs didn't take to kindly to that action, but I still thought it was fun, and to this day giggle about that mustache.
It was a pretty funny mustache!
Lately, my main creative outlet has been stand up comedy. It's just as fun as being a rock-star, but with out a lot of the bullshit that comes with doing music. I've been getting a pretty good response to my performances so far, and have even captured some of it on video! Hence, why I have created this blog, to share my comedy journey with the good people of the internet. I hope some of it makes you laugh.
